Industrial Wedding Decor

Ooooooo!  Industrial wedding decor is the bomb.  It can be hard to get right but as Whimsical Creations  By Tamara shows us when you get it right boy do you get it right.  I love the use of wood and steel to create set the industrial tone.  Add onto that the peonies, babies breath and blackboard to soften the look  and voila, its a perfect industrial wedding look.

Welcome back to the week!  Did you enjoy your weekend?  My trip down the coast was so relaxing.  While I was down there I spied this fun little template over on Martha Stewart Weddings and I had to share - An I Spy photographic challenge perfect for keeping any kiddo's at your wedding entertained while they snap away ticking off things from their I Spy list.  Better yet, it's a free template you can print right here.  Bless her, Martha thinks of everything doesn't she?

The Most Darling Wedding DIY Weekend Project

Oh goody, its nearly the weekend and I can't wait to get stuck into some DIY projects.  I'm loving this transferable chalkboard stencils all the way from Poppytalk.  They've used them as a decorating motif but I could see a little DIY hack wedding styles!  How about these as a table number motif for your reception? It's a perfectly refined look to add some character to your table.  Check out how to create your stencil here!

Glam French Wedding Interiors Inspired By Chanel

As soon as I saw these shots of Chanel's latest runway show I immediately thought there are some brilliant learnings to take away for a glam french style wedding.  So what's making it tres special?  Number One - the use of height creates a sense of grandeur. Ceiling chandeliers, high floral arrangements, mid height candelabra's - they all combine to create scale. Number Two - the colour palate. Creams, whites, golds and glass tones mix perfectly to create a luxurious palate.  Number Three - Opulent displays - Would you just look at that amazing food piled high?  Interspersed with flowers the display gives a sense of opulence.  So while you may not be able to do the Chanel version you sure can take a few learnings to apply!

Mason Jars - What I Love and Where I Got A Great Deal

Lately I've been ooogling over mason jars. Why? We are hosting a little bbq for Australia Day and these are going to be the perfect alternative to normal glassware.  Served with a cute striped straw these little puppies are going to add a fun home spun feel to our bash.  I picked up a great deal here for a dozen of them and better yet the purchase helps support Aussie farmers. So, what do you reckon - Are you a fan of mason jars?

Our Super Fun Photo Booth and DIY Back Drop

Making our wedding fun was a PRIORITY for the Big A and I.  So one of the best things we did was to have a Photo Booth from the uber talented Jess at In An Instant Photography.  To keep with our DIY feel we created a fun photo booth backdrop of kraft paper hearts hanging at different heights.  Using the backdrop gave our photos depth and a really fun prop to play with.

Oh and if you are looking for any more inspiration ....

Obsessing: The Anti DIY Floral Arrangement

Lately I've been obsessing over big fat blooms as reception flowers - the anti DIY floral arrangement if you will!  Think gloriously large arrangements overflowing with blooms.  Complementary colours keep everything in unison and let the size of the bloom speak for itself.  Okay the budget may not always stretch to this but a girl can dream right?

Easy Ideas For Your Photobooth Backdrop

One of my favourite parts of our wedding was the Photobooth, I loved being able to play art director and pull together how it was going to look and feel.  Outside of the people, the backdrop is the most important part to give a strong photo.  From sheets strung together for a homespun feel to hanging fabric streamers for something whimsical it can be super easy.  If you are after a little more effort then think about mini bunting for a DIY look or masses of tinsel overlapping for a serious party vibe.  Whatever you do, project the kind of wedding you want!

2 Ways To Decorate Your Lawn At A Garden Wedding

Wedding's always get me when there are unexpected details that just take everything up to the next level.    So how about some ideas to get some decoration amazement at the lawn of your garden wedding?  There are some really simple ways to make it fun and make it impactful......

When you have an expansive lawn its a great idea to create some detail and fun with a decorative item.  How about some oversized lanterns dotted around the lawn?  And for extra points, put some lighting inside so as the sun goes down your lanterns are going to put some glow into the lawn.

If you want a simple DIY that will have maximum impact how about an oversized pair of your initials? You could make these from cardboard, foam or wood - paint them to fit with your colour scheme or for some razzle dazzle cover them with glitter.
